Client The Square Ball
Daniel Farke. The German who arrived at Elland Road with a Norwich City Championship title on his CV and the impossible task of rebuilding after Bielsa. A digital portrait for The Square Ball, originally drawn during the cautious optimism phase of his tenure before things got complicated. Oil painting sensibilities applied to a digital workflow, trying to get that Sargent-esque looseness without actually having to clean any brushes.
Not to be confused with The Gaffer, which is an entirely separate magazine about entirely different gaffers.
