Client The Square Ball
Thomas Christiansen. He was good for a bit, specifically the first half of the 2017/18 season when Leeds topped the table and everything felt temporarily magical. This piece was for The Square Ball — a portrait that leans into something a bit more graphic and skeletal, which felt appropriate given how the season eventually deteriorated.
2017
The oil studies underneath are from an earlier life. Ten-plus years of painting mixed with photography, from back when I still used actual paint.
